Fractal Decimation

Fractal Decimation was created from a digital CAD file that I created using scanning technology to begin the process then I digitally modified the form using Autodesk Meshmixer, Mesh Lab, and Autodesk 3DS Max then exported the STL File. The file was sent via Dropbox to my colleagues in Italy where the robotic carving of the form took place. Following 25 Hours of robotic stone carving, I spent the next month refining the form by hand for exhibition. The work is 40” x 20”x20” carved from marble. This work is in Italy and will require the purchaser to cover costs for crating and shipping.
